When selling digital products on your website, we suggest that you use a folder on your server that is not directly accessible by a web browser for storing your digital products. For example, suppose the root directory of your website is located at /home/mysite/public_html. We would suggest storing your products in a folder such as /home/mysite/downloads so that customers cannot link directly to your digital product file. This gives Cart66 complete control over the
delivery of your product, preventing people from being able to download the product without paying or download the product more times than you allow.
You can set the digital products folder in the Digital Product Settings meta box in the main Cart66 Settings page.
If the folder you have selected is not writable, you will receive a message underneath the Product folder textbox that lets you know.
You will also receive a message in the digital options section of the products page.
